It is cold here.... very cold. After reading comments from my northern friends though I shouldn't complain... no snow here!
We have been testing our children this week.... dibel away! So far I am impressed with what my children have learned! They are doing awesome...
However, some need help with segmenting and blending phonemes.... Is it my kinders or are you seeing the same? Even though we have practiced, (everyday during guided reading groups) I still have children who do great until they get to the ending sound. For example.... the word is hat... They segment it .... h/a/s.
So, today I am working on some more things with hearing the ending sounds in words... With more practice, I know they will be able to hear the ending sound. Fingers crossed!!!!
Great news.... We have tomorrow off! Yippeee.... I can work on some more things for you! I am so excited!
I love pinterest and it is so addicting! If you would like to follow my boards, just click on the pinterest button to the right of my blog.... So many of you have already done this.... thank you! Let's keep pinning!
Help.... What types of things would you like to see here on my blog? I make things my children need. Please tell me what you want and I'll try to make it for you! Also, I need to remember to take pictures and share more with you. We have strict policies about showing pictures of showing our children on the internet..... but I'll try to get it together without showing their faces. Please leave me a comment about what things you would like to see more. :)
I have a cute CVC word literacy station for you! Click on the picture to download. My children are having a great time playing this in my classroom. I thought yours would too. Hope you enjoy!
Have a great rest of your weekend and stay warm!

Love this! Believe it or not, but my Kinders were tested last 9 weeks on CVC and by the end of this 9 weeks they have to read CCVC words - YIKES! (especially for my ones that can't even read CVC yet!) Thanks for the Freebie! :) Printing it out and adding it to a center this week! :)

Your artic word game is perfect for my k kids. We do AIMS web which is about the same as DIBELS. We do see lower scores on some of the scores as the kids begin really reading- evidenced in the nonsense words. As a result, letter names and sounds may go down, instead of up. You would think kids would continue to improve each subskill. But I'm glad more are beginning to read and write independently!
I love this! Thanks!!

Thank you very much! I don't have to use Dibels, but we do want our kinders to be able to hear sounds in words. We do a lot with oral blending and segmenting before it is with letters, but I think most of them are ready.
Ending sounds are especially tough for some kids.
Thanks so much! I can't wait to use it with my class!
LOVE this!!! I will put it at my magnetic letters center & let them build the words with those! Thank you so much for creating & sharing!
Thanks for sharing! Just what I needed!
