A Little Bit of Math Practice

I hope everyone has had a great week.  I am so glad Friday is right around the corner!   Today a 5th grade teacher and I teamed up so that our kiddos can work together once a week.  We see it as a win-win situation where both classes will benefit educationally as well as socially!

My kinders need extra practice with writing their numerals 6-10.  This is a quick roll and write game that I plan on laminating.  I have a few blank foam dice where I will write the numerals on each face.  Since there are only 5 numerals... I think on the last face on the dice, I will draw a pumpkin.  If my kinder rolls the pumpkin, they will find a friend and orally count to them.  It will be a good time for me to assess their counting ability.  We have been working on counting to 100 through songs.  Just click on the pic to download! :)
I know patterning is not a common core goal, but my county is expecting us to teach patterning.  This is just a fast morning work activity I am going to use to see how my kinders are doing! You can download that activity here.
I use DJ Inkers clipart for both activities!

I have been thinking for a long time now about opening a TPT store.  I haven't done it because I enjoy making things and love sharing with you.  On the other hand there are many things I can't share because of the graphic artist's terms of use.  I would still keep as many things as I could free on here, but, provide you the opportunity to purchase my stuff you like.  I hope you will give me honest feedback.... I really value your input!

I am just like you. I love DJ Inkers and wish so much that you can sell this on TPT. I love the free stuff you give, but I am sure that you can create just as awesome things to sell on TPT, too. Good luck!

I just found your site and have fallen in love with your freebies! I would definitely love to see you open a TPT store - youre stuff is great! I teach Special Education but have found that I can adapt most all of your activities to fit with my kids. Thanks so much for sharing your creativity!!

Anna,
I have a soft spot in my heart for Special Education. I team taught for a short time with another teacher at my school. I learned a lot from her! It is amazing how many of the strategies you use also helps my kinders. For example, I use cued speech to help with children having difficulties with letter sounds. Thank you for coming to my blog! Feel free to email me if I could ever help you with any thing you need!

I love all your work and I can tell you put in a lot of effort. I never really thought about opening my own store until I found a great opportunity through Teachers Notebook. You pay a one time fee and you keep all the money except for a small percentage that Pay Pal takes. As a result, I opened my own store to help pay for my clip art obsession. I keep my prices at $1-$2 because I want teachers to be able to afford the item; knowing that many of us pay these expenses on our own. I love your freebies and appreciate that you would continue to offer them. However, we all know that time is money and there is nothing wrong with being compensated for your hard work.

Now you asked for honest feedback, so here it is: I'm a freebie stalker. The majority of what I use in my classroom has come from incredible people like you who share, share, share. I dislike going to a person's blog to read about some new activity they're doing with their students only to find out as I finish reading it's just been a commercial for their TpT store.

However, I have made purchases and will continue to do so from time to time if the quality and value match the purchase price.

So yes, open up that TpT store. Why not! It's great to have the opportunity to earn a little extra on the side.
