Reading Strategies --Redone

Hi Blogging Buddies,

These are the reading strategies I place in my B.E.A.R ( Bring Everything Always Ready) parent/teacher communication binder. I put them in a page protector so the children can refer to them at home.  I did not like how the old one looked and it was hard for the children to read.
I had read  somewhere that these are called Beanie Baby strategies, but I could never find all the beanie babies.... remember those?  So, when Scrappin Doodles came out with the clip art I was so excited and so were my shopping feet!
This is not my idea and I cannot remember where I read about these strategies.  I would love to give credit to the person because this strategy has really helped my children when they come to unknown words and it helps parents with reading at home.
I am redoing the posters I have up in my classroom and hope to have them redone by tomorrow.   Please click on the picture to download if you would like a copy and leave a comment.  I love hearing from you!

What an awesome resource - thank you! I'm not sure I have all of the Beanie Babies, either - now I don't need them!

I have the beanie babies. This will be great to put in my kiddos F.R.O.G binders. I have some Lips the Fish activities on my blog you might want to check out! I am a new follower! :)

I love this! My k students seem to really grab on to these. Thank you for sharing. I found and saved a bookmark for kids with the same pictures on them from some blog site. Now I can't get the file to open to print and can't re-locate the source. Anyone familiar with Reading Strategy Bookmarks with same clipart?

I just found your blog and I am so excited. Thank you for all of the wonderful things you have posted here. I am going back to work next week after being off for 6 weeks on maternity leave and I can't wait to meet my kiddos and get them started on so many of your wonderful ideas. Your nocturnal animal/bat stuff is great!! Thank you again so much!

I've been searching for a sheet to send home to parents with the strategies on them... I'm so happy I found your blog!!!! We use one more strategy in first grade - Flippy Dolphin (flip the vowel sound). Would you ever consider adding that to your sheet?
Thanks!
